A native to Australia, Silkies are believed to be the result of crossbreeding the Yorkshire Terrier with other small terrier breeds. The silky is a small toy breed who is friendly, curious and intelligent. By far, the most notable characteristic of the breed is its fine, glossy, silky textured coat. Very little shedding. Minimal grooming required.
