Originally descended from the ancient sled dogs of Iceland and Lapland, the Pomeranian is a member of the unofficial "Spitz" group of dogs. They are very high-spirited dogs who frequently like to bark. Needing limited exercise, they are an excellent house pet. Very little shedding. Minimal grooming required.
