Developed in the 1800s when game was plentiful and hunting was both a sport and a way of life, this breed was an excellent hunter on land and water. Due to their gentle disposition and intelligence, Goldens are now used as guide dogs, narcotics detectors and companions. Goldens are affectionate, well-mannered and gentle with small children and infants. AVERAGE WEIGHT: 60-75 lbs. |
