This breed descended from the Spanish Pointer, which was introduced in the early 1600s. They were first admitted to the AKC in 1930. They are very active, strong-willed companion dogs that need a lot of exercise and training. Although generally friendly with children, they are too powerful and energetic for small children. AVERAGE WEIGHT: 55-70 lbs. |
