The French Bulldog, or Frenchie, is a sturdy, compact, stocky little dog, with a large square head that has a rounded forehead. Pleasant and easy to care for, the Frenchie makes a wonderful companion who is playful, alert and affectionate. These dogs are enthusiastic and lively without being "yappy" or loud. The Frenchie tends to have a very comical personality and loves to clown around. They are bright and easy-going. They get along well with strangers and other animals and play well with other dogs.

The French Bulldog needs to be taken on a daily walk, but are a good pet for apartment life. They can be fairly active indoors and will do okay without a yard.

Very little grooming is needed. Regular brushings will do.
