It is believed that this is the oldest breed of dog native to the North American continent. Evidence suggests that the Chihuahua played a part in the religious ceremonies of the Aztecs. Intelligent and affectionate, this toy breed is extremely courageous and can make a delightful companion pet. There are two varieties of Chihuahua - long coat and smooth coat. Very little shedding. Minimal grooming required.
