This unusual breed, with its expressive wrinkled face, originated in Africa. It was kept by Egyptian pharaohs as a companion and is used by the natives of Central Africa as a guide dog and a hunter. The basenji has a unique trait - it does not bark. It is also an extremely clean dog and carefully grooms itself all over like a cat. Minimal shedding and grooming required. AVERAGE WEIGHT: 22-24 lbs. |
